The Simon West-Burns Building project entails the construction of a new 6-story above-grade residential building alongside a significant alteration of an existing 6-story building. The two structures will be seamlessly connected to accommodate 150 apartments.

FMC's scope of work includes the structural design of the new 6-story building, with five stories constructed using wood over a concrete podium slab. Additionally, FMC is responsible for converting the existing mixed-use structure to residential.

The conversion project involves various aspects, such as designing new slab openings, stairs, and areaways, infilling existing slab openings, and upgrading the existing floor and roof slabs to support amenity space and accommodate mechanical equipment.
