The Jefferson Building, originally a school built in 1958 and later converted into an office building in 2004, is undergoing a significant renovation to become a residential complex. The project includes transforming the existing structure into 12 residential units across three floors while retaining the building's height. Notable changes include renovating the lower roof with a new design and wider dormers, modifying or replacing windows, adding balconies with sculptural guardrails, and integrating two projecting bays at the front. The expansion also involves constructing 17 townhomes with a foundation wall serving as a retaining wall around the site.
FMC is tasked with the structural design of the new 17 townhomes and conducting significant structural work on the existing school building. Furthermore, FMC will continue to provide construction administration services throughout the project. This includes reviewing RFI's and shop drawings and performing site visits during construction to ensure that all design aspects are implemented smoothly and successfully.
