The Bond Bread Factory and Washington Railway & Electric Company (WRECO) sites in Washington, DC's Shaw neighborhood are revitalizing with new development.

Spanning 600,000 square feet, this mixed-use destination will feature approximately 430 residential units, a 180-room hotel, retail spaces, and a public park. The Bond Bread Factory and WRECO buildings' historical facades and interior elements will be preserved, adding to the development's uniqueness.

FMC Structural is responsible for the new buildings' structural design and strengthening of the existing façade and structure. FMC's involvement in the project encompasses a wide range of responsibilities related to structural design, strengthening the existing structure, assessment and restoration of existing historic elements (facade and trusses), and extensive exploratory work of the existing structure.
