Tariku Wakene, MSc, PE

Tariku currently works as an Associate at FMC Structural. With over 16 years of experience, he has a wealth of expertise in structural design, analysis, construction administration, client management, and project coordination. Tariku has honed his structural and geotechnical engineering skills and is proficient in various software platforms.

He has extensive experience managing projects in various sectors, including offices, residences, schools, hospitals, bridges, commercial establishments, hotels, garages, and interior renovations. He is skilled in working with reinforced concrete, structural steel, and wood construction.

Before joining FMC, Tariku held the position of Project Manager at SK&A in Washington, DC, for over seven years. Before that, he worked for over eight years as a project manager and senior structural engineer for Tadjer Cohen Edelson Associates (TCE) in Silver Spring, MD. In these roles, Tariku's responsibilities included project management, structural analysis and design of existing and new facilities, conducting specialized analyses to prevent progressive collapse, peer reviews, assessing shop drawings, and mentoring junior engineers in software training.

EDUCATION: MSc in Structural Engineering and BSc in Civil Engineering.
