Hong serves as an Associate Principal in our firm. Before joining FMC, he worked as a structural engineer for multiple engineering firms and taught as an Assistant Professor at Tsinghua University. With 32 years of experience, including 23 years of design experience in the U.S., Hong brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team.

Hong is in charge of designing office, condominium, hotel, commercial, multi-use, industrial, and institutional educational buildings, as well as parking garages, both low and high rise, both above grade and below grade. He designed the projects utilizing various structural systems/materials, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, and lumber/ timber wood. In addition to new construction design, many projects involve renovating and altering the existing structures. Hong also performed many peer reviews & and value engineering recommendations to improve the cost and constructability of other's engineering designs.

Hong's duties include structural analysis and design structures, supervising & coordinating with interdisciplinary team members, monitoring the construction, reviewing contractor's cost proposals, and investigating and evaluating existing structures.

Education: Ph.D. Candidate in Structural Engineering (Unfinished). MSc and BSc in Structural Engineering.
